On protecting the fields, mountains and our shared environment

Green Fest expresses its deep concern and indignation for the great damage being caused by the deliberate or accidental burning of fields and mountains in the vicinity of Mitrovica and beyond. These acts not only destroy natural ecosystems, but also worsen air quality and the health of our residents. What is happening with the fires can be considered the greatest ecological damage after the floods of 2023.

Therefore, we invite all citizens to show maximum care and vigilance towards any situation that causes damage to the environment; from small acts such as throwing glass and plastic bottles from cars, to the pollution of rivers and throwing waste on the roads and in nature.

We appeal for close cooperation with law enforcement and security agencies for the immediate reporting of any case of arson or pollution, preventing our environment from being further damaged. Because any damage that is being done today will leave harmful traces for future generations.

Mitrovica is a city that still carries the scars of a heavy industrial past. We must not further poison it with irresponsible actions. Protecting nature is the responsibility of each of us.

Let us preserve the greenery, clean air and natural beauty of our country, today and for the future.
