Jubilee edition of Green Fest concludes – Around 10,000 participants in Mitrovica
With over 10,000 visitors over the course of five days, the 15th edition of Green Fest, the largest art and environmental festival in Kosovo, concluded last night.
This year, the festival was held under the theme “Toxicity,” addressing—through art and a wide range of activities—both visible and invisible forms of pollution. The program included concerts, exhibitions, documentary film screenings, workshops, and sports and recreational activities, bringing together citizens, artists, and activists.
Among the highlights were Armend Rexhepagiqi’s return to Mitrovica, performances by Yll Limani, as well as numerous bands and DJs over three festival nights. Special mention goes to the premieres of the documentaries “Rot in Routine” by Gentiana Shyti and Engjëllushe Avdiu, and “When Trees Speak” by Qëndrim Gashi, produced within the programs of 7Arte Academy. In addition, the Green Talks program hosted scientific and activist discussions on toxicity, encouraging reflection on the environmental challenges facing Mitrovica and Kosovo as a whole.
The festival concluded last night with the screening of the documentary “The Sky Above Zenica,” leaving behind not only cultural and artistic memories, but also a strong call to action in response to environmental challenges.
Green Fest 15 became a vibrant space where art, culture, and civic engagement came together to deliver a clear message: pollution and toxicity can only be overcome through awareness, solidarity, and collective action.
