Green Fest unveils the program for its 14th edition
7Arte is pleased to announce the program for the 14th edition of Green Fest, an event dedicated to environmental issues and commitment to sustainability. The festival will be held from August 14th to August 18th, 2024, in Mitrovica, marking the launch of the new project “Empowerment of Environmental Civil Society Organizations in Kosovo” (EECSOK), supported by the Swedish Embassy in Pristina.
Green Fest will bring a series of educational and artistic activities, including workshops, discussions, exhibitions, and musical performances, all aimed at raising awareness of environmental issues and promoting sustainable practices. “We are very happy to start this important project, and we are grateful that the Swedish Embassy in Pristina is supporting us in this effort for four consecutive years,” said Lulzim Hoti, Director of 7Arte.
“We believe that the empowerment of environmental civil society organizations is essential to achieve sustainable changes and create a cleaner and healthier environment for all.” The festival will kick off with an official opening ceremony at the City Park in Mitrovica on August 14th, 2024, at 7:00 PM, with representatives from the Swedish Embassy, municipal officials, implementing partners, and environmental activists in attendance.
This year’s program includes recreational activities such as pilates, yoga, hiking, cycling, and more. Educational activities include Green Talks with topics such as “The State of Rivers in Kosovo,” “The Potential of Public Spaces Near Rivers,” “The Dead Rivers of Kosovo,” and “The Impact of Industrial Discharges on Rivers,” as well as various workshops for children, film screenings, and cultural events featuring musical concerts over the five nights of the festival. Performers will include Alban Skenderaj, Vlashent Sata, Linda Rukaj, Oda Haliti, Shpat Deda, and many others.
